Autumn Through a Lensball

This photo was taken during my first photo walk with my new Lensball. The scenery was the Tervuren ponds, in Tervuren, near Brussels, Belgium.

The Lensball is a crystal ball designed for photography and a quite a cool photographic tool. An ultra-clear glass sphere, capable of flipping vertically an image due to the refraction of light in the glass and its spherical geometry, is placed in front of the camera. Best results can be achieved with a large aperture, to reduce the depth of field in a way that the ball and the refracted image on it are the only thing in focus on the photo. The results can be astonishing.
